The CR Smith Museum preserves the history of American Airlines and explains what it takes to run the airline, as told through the perspective of the team members who work there. Through its activities, the museum serves American Airlines employees and the aviation industry – past and present, and interested members of the general public. The museum is committed to education, with a focus on hands-on, interactive learning.
In 2017, the museum saw over 17,000 children through its Flight Workshop Education programs of which over 7,000 were from Title 1 schools. The Flight Workshop Education program is a sought-after hands-on education program about the history, science, engineering and careers behind flight, offered both in an in-house and outreach format for students grades K – 12 and is based on 21st-century learning skills and tied to Texas State standards. The overall goal of the Flight Workshop program is to enhance the level of STEM education and to familiarize students in grades K-12 with career options in aviation.
Your gift supports the Museum’s ability to provide STEM and aviation educational opportunities to local schools and community groups. Your gift could help inspire the next generation of scientists, technologists, engineers, and mathematicians!
Partner with one of the leading airline museums that helps to address the gap in STEM education among students in grades K-12, including many from Title 1 schools. Museum programs are designed to provide opportunities for educational, personal and career growth for these children. By partnering with the museum, you will gain visibility and expand your philanthropic efforts.
The CR Smith Museum is always interested in considering new acquisitions. If you have an item of historical nature concerning American Airlines or a subsidiary or predecessor company, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
