FREQUENTLY
ASKED QUESTIONS
How
Do I Book an Event?
Our event coordinator will be happy to work with you or your group from
start to finish to ensure that your event is truly memorable. Call the
museum's Event Coordinator, Gloria Randles, at (817) 967-5910 or e-mail gloria.randles@aa.com for available
dates and for more information on what we have to offer your group.
What
Does My Rental Include?
A before- or after-hours reservation of the museum for your
special event ensures that your guests will have the museum totally to
themselves. All exhibits will be up and running. We will show our 14-minute
film, the Spirit of American, in our "first-class" theater
if you choose it to be a part of your evenings entertainment.
A museum representative
and volunteers will be on hand to greet you and your guests, answer questions,
make announcements, show our movie, the Spirit of American, to
make the event flow smoothly. If you choose to include our two-seat flight
simulator as part of your evening's activities, our "Captain"
will give your guests a private flying lesson and award a pair of wings
at the completion of the "lesson." Guests not in the cockpit
can observe the flight on a large-screen monitor located just outside
the simulator. It is always a big hit with guests.
A museum representative
will be present in the museum until caterers and all guests have departed.
What
is Considered Extra?
Extra services offered by the museum include audio/visual equipment
as well as its set-up. We will be happy to set up a podium and microphone,
either on stage in our theater, in the DC-3 hangar, or both! Our 42
X 36 theater screen and theater with its 100 "first-class"
airline seats is the perfect "screening room" for your special
video or PowerPoint presentation. We have state-of-the-art video projection
equipment, slide projectors and overhead projector. (For pricing on these
items, please click on event
rental price list.)
Set-up of the equipment will be handled before the start of your event.
You will be responsible for supplying your own laptop computer for PowerPoint
presentations, for doing a "run-through" with our a/v technician
before the event to test your materials and to learn how to operate the
equipment, and for running your presentation during the event.
Your caterer will
handle the rental of all tables, chairs, linens, serviceware, etc., for
your function.
What
Am I Responsible For?
The museum is essentially your event location. We will help
in any way we can by making suggestions and helping to make sure your
caterer, decorator, entertainment, etc., are set up, as you want them.
You will be responsible for arranging for all catering and bar accommodations
(including personnel to set-up, serve, tear down and clean up following
the event), outside entertainment and decorating. Your caterer will normally
handle the food, drinks, rental items, linens, centerpieces, service personnel,
etc. We have a suggested list of wonderful caterers who have experience
within our museum environment and can accommodate all of your needs. Call
our event coordinator at (817) 967-5910 or e-mail gloria.randles@aa.com for suggested caterers to accommodate your unique situation and needs.
