Rental Guidelines
The C.R. Smith
Museum's historical collection of American Airlines and airline
industry memorabilia, as well as current interactive hands-on aviation
displays, offer our visitors an experience that is fun as well as
educational. With its Event Rental Program, the museum provides
a unique and exciting setting for private gatherings and corporate
entertaining. We can accommodate groups of all sizes, ranging from
10 to 300-plus guests for a sit-down dinner to more than 500 for
a buffet-style reception -- complete with a band!
A museum event
coordinator will work with your group from start to finish to ensure
a memorable event. We'll make certain that all arrangements you'll
need to consider are addressed in advance, including caterers, licenses,
entertainment and/or any special needs.

museum is open Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.; Facility rental
is available during our non-operational hours:

Rental Rates Museum
Space $300 per hour
Retail Store $100 per hour
- Rates are
based on two-hour minimum and do not include catering.
- Hourly charges
begin when caterer or host begins set-up and ends after tear-down/clean-up
and doors are locked.
- 50 percent
deposit required at time a contract is signed with the balance
due 48 hours prior to the event.
- Non-profit
organizations receive a 10% discount off total invoice.
- Museum Lifetime
Gold and Platinum members and Corporate Sponsors receive a 10%
discount off
total invoice for events over three hours duration.
- Checks are
to be made payable to: The C.R. Smith Museum Aviation Foundation.
- Information
about Corporate Partnerships and Museum Membership is available
upon request.
Caterers
Below
is a list of approved caterers for C.R. Smith Museum event rentals.
You are not limited to this list for your event, but these caterers
have experience working in our facility and will be able to cater
to your needs efficiently and professionally. Please feel free to
discuss your catering options with your event coordinator.
Other Services
A
complete line of modern audio-visual equipment is available
(see attached price list). All arrangements and technical requests
must be approved and coordinated through the Event Coordinator
and Museum Technician. The sponsor will be advised of any additional
charges in advance.
- Iwerks
Theater - The screening of our large-format film may be shown
throughout the event if desired. The theater seats approximately
100 guests for each showing. Other audio-visual options are possible
in the theater as well.
- Security
- Any additional security requested by the sponsor will be provided
by the museum. The sponsor will be advised in advance of any additional
charges.
- Custodial
- Any additional custodial services needed for groups over 200
may incur additional charges to the sponsor. The museum will advise
the sponsor of these charges in advance.
- Entertainment
- Most forms of entertainment are permissible in the museum. Final
approval rests with the event coordinator.
- Parking
- Museum parking is located directly across the street (FAA Road)
from the museum at the Training & Conference Center. Handicapped
spaces are available in front of the museum.
